Season Update 2

As a result of overwhelming demand to continue the season and after meeting with the captains yesterday, we have decided to have an salvage the rest of this year by having a abridged season.

Conclusions from the meeting:
- The league will now be split into two conferences.
- Each conference will be made up of four teams, based on last years final season rankings:

Conference A
Conference B
Red, White & Bruise
Reach to Teach
Untouchable Mafia
Hate
Big Smooth
Blue
Typhoon
Underdogs

- There will be three regular season games, beginning the week of November 11th and consist of three weeks of conference play.

- Semi-finals will be played on the week of December 2nd, between the first place in conference A and second place in conference B and first place in conference B and second place in conference A.

- The week of November 4th, will be Inter-Conference play that does not count against standings, with the schedule to be posted soon.

- Games will be played at this field:

Season Update

After a couple of weeks of delaying and hoping for the best and hoping for things to clear up, we have unanimously decided to cancel Season 3.
This decision is primarily based upon the findings or lack there of, which took place during our one hour scavenge at the old field early this afternoon. Remaining was 3 of the 6 boundary lines, 2 broken cones, 10 yellow mud-caked flags, 2 red mud-caked flags, and one red mat found in a pile of mud/clay. Everything else has apparently been washed away or buried with the receding waters & mountains of mud from the typhoon/flood.
All league fees previously paid will be refunded in full to the team captains. Brian will be in charge of that.
Luckily, we have money left over in the TAFFA savings from the previous season to cover the costs of having to buy new equipment. We will try our hardest to restart Season 3 after Chinese New Year.

In the meantime keep posted about news for tournaments and pick up games.

As the commissioners & founders of the league, we will anxiously await with you, the start of a fun-filled season in 2008. Thanks to all for the support & like-minded passion for flag football.
Thanks again,

Week 2 Schedule: UPDATE 4

As of now, we have temporary use of a field, not too far from the old field, and are looking into securing this field if at all possible.
As you follow the bridge left on the map, you will see a track and field next to 2 blue basketball courts. This is the field we will be playing on. The road that runs in front of the field is Huan He East Rd. Sect. 2. in between the Fu He Bridge & the Yong Fu Bridge.
There is no direct exit to the field. If coming from Taipei City on the Fu He Bridge, once you see the field on your right, take the next right you see. You will have to take some alleys and kind of u-turn back in the direction of the field. Find parking where possible.

PLAN FOR EXTRA TIME TO GET TO THIS FIELD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
***Games will be as follows:
11:00am- Big Smooth vs. The Underdogs (line judges: Reach to Teach)
12:00pm- Typhoon vs. Reach to Teach (line judges: Big Smooth)
1:00pm- Untouchable Mafia vs. The Hate (line judges: Typhoon)
2:00pm- Blue vs. Red White & Bruise (line judges: Hate)

Please get to the field with sufficient time, so that we can start on time. Teams with not enough players will still have to forfeit. Thanks to the teams who have paid their league fees, as for the few teams who haven't paid, please do so this Sunday.
Teams that do not pay, DO NOT Play!!!!!

Week 2 Schedule: UPDATE 3

TAFFA Players:
Due to the damage caused from last week's typhoon, we are forced to find another field. If you haven't heard what happened, flood waters carried layers of mud onto our playing field & ended up covering it almost entirely, thus making it unplayable.
We will postpone games this Sunday until the following Sunday in order to give us time to find a new field. We already have our eyes on one field near the Yong He one, but we must confirm that it is useable to the public & if any other organizations have priority on that field.
If anyone knows of a good field that is accessible, please contact either Royal, Brian or Chyi, asap.
Also, not every player's email is on this list, so do your best to spread the word to teammates and friends in the league.
Thanks for your cooperation & patience!
