Uniform Policy enforcement

As many of you already know, we had a very unfortunate injury occur on the field last Sunday. As a result the organizers of TAFFA will be implementing two new policy changes.

1) The organizers of TAFFA have always stressed the importance of shorts without pockets, or pockets that have some form of zipper or Velcro. The organizers will begin to enforce this rule to the fullest and will not allow players that have pockets that do not contain some sort of zipper of Velcro and furthermore will no longer allow the "taping" of pockets going forward.

If any player is caught wearing pants with pockets the penalties are as follows:
-Automatic 1st down for the opposing team with a 7 step gain. If the pocket is on offense, then it will result in a 7 step loss of yards and a loss of down.
-Player must change immediately

2) There has also been concerns that players are overly creative in the way the flags are being clamped. It has been brought to our attention that players have been securing or making it more difficult to remove the flags, by inserting the clamps of the flags through the loop. This has resulted in many flags breaking as well as being potentially dangerous for the "tackling player." This is considered cheating and is unsportsmanlike. Any player found to be manipulating flags in order to gain advantage will be ejected from the game. Furthermore following any score players will be subjected to a "flag pull" by the head ref to confirm that the flag has not been tampered with. If the flag has been altered, there will be penalty of 7 steps with a loss of down, ejection of the player and of course the touchdown will not count.
Please help us by following our two new rule changes above, in order to ensure that game play is fair and most of all fun.
